Helter Skelter - 10/11/13

People always ask what there is to do on a sea day.  Well, . . .

Everything I wanted to do today overlapped. We started with room service breakfast at 7:15. At 8:30 I went to the outdoor basketball court for Zumba. I had to leave Zumba early to get to the bridge lecture (on signaling). I had to leave the bridge lecture early to get to the lecture on the geology of Italy by Jules Talarico, a retired high school teacher. I met Ken there and we relived what it is like to be in high school. Then we left early to go to the Cruise Critic Meet and Greet. We got a lovely laminated door sign from one of the Cruise Critic couples.

For lunch we decided to go to the Horizon Court - the big buffet. On this new ship it is bigger and better than ever. You need to wander around and see what there is before you start putting food on your plate. There was a section with Asian food, a salad bar, a sushi bar, soup, pasta, hot dishes, breads, sandwich fixings, a seafood bar, and more.

After lunch we went to a lecture by John Maxtone-Graham. We had enjoyed his lectures on the Grand and were pleased to learn we would be sailing with him again. He spoke about the Royal Princess and earlier namesakes. I then went off to play duplicate bridge and Ken went for a long walk on a short track.

Then it was time to get dressed for formal night while we enjoying Bellinis and canapés in our room. We went to see a new production show called "Colors of the World." It was very entertaining. Then it was time for dinner. Service was a little slow so our dinner lasted about two and a half hours. After dinner there was a ventriloquist, but we went back to our cabin because we have a very early morning tomorrow.

Apparently I was too busy to take any photos today.
So here is a photo from Princess of what our "deluxe balcony" cabin looked like.
